San Antonio braces for potential severe weather in Fiesta's second week

However, it may not be enough to keep away the storms, which have canceled several major Fiesta events, as the San Antonio area braces for another bout of potential severe weather this week.
A round of strong to severe storms in the eastern potion of South-Central Texas, which includes San Antonio, are possible for Tuesday, April 25, starting late afternoon and into the evening, according to the National Weather Service. If storms develop, they could bring threats of damaging winds and large hail, similar to last week. According to the NWS, the San Antonio area experienced 2 to 3 inches of rainfall last Friday, April 21, and another 0.5 to 1 inches of rain on Sunday, April 23.
Weather experts are expecting a cold front to move into the area on Wednesday, April 26, which would bring an additional threat for severe storms. Wednesday’s highs will be in the 80s and the day’s lows in the 60s, according to NWS.
After a pause in any severe weather risks on Thursday, April 27, the potential for stormy weather continues Friday, April 28, with chances for evening scattered thunderstorms, according to the NWS. Going into Saturday, April 29, the last weekend of Fiesta is expected to be a dry and cold one with low temperatures in the 50s and highs in the 70s.
While San Antonio is experiencing a brief weather reprieve on Monday, April 24, some lingering rain is possible accompanied by slightly cooler weather. Temperatures are anticipated to be about 5 degrees lower than normal temperatures, NWS said.
